Check your claim
Answer a few quick questions online, or call us. You see straight away whether you could have a claim and roughly what it could be worth.
- 2
A free call with our team
We talk through the problems in your home, what you have reported and the evidence you have. If you have a claim, we explain in writing how No Win, No Fee works before you sign anything.
- 3
We contact your landlord
We send your landlord a formal letter of claim under the court's Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims. Your landlord then usually has 20 working days to respond.
- 4
Your home is inspected
An independent surveyor visits at a time arranged with you, to record the problems and what needs to be done to fix them.
- 5
Repairs and compensation
We negotiate with your landlord for the repairs and your compensation. Most claims are settled without a court hearing. If yours does go to court, we handle the legal side for you.
What you need
Helpful evidence makes a claim stronger. Do not worry if you do not have everything: we can help you gather it.
- Dated photos and videos of the problems
- Copies of your repair requests and the landlord's replies
- Receipts for damaged belongings or extra costs, such as heaters
- Notes from your GP if anyone's health has been affected
How long it takes
Every case is different. Some claims settle within a few months, others take longer, for example when the landlord disputes the claim or a lot of work is needed. We keep you updated at every stage.
What it costs
We work on a No Win, No Fee basis. There is nothing to pay upfront or while your claim is running, and if your claim does not succeed, you do not pay us a fee. Before you sign anything, we explain in writing what you would pay if you win.
